The suspect is described as a Black male, wearing a reflective shirt, sunglasses, surgical mask and backward khaki baseball cap, according to police.
The suspect displayed a gun and demanded money after entering the Checks Cashed, located at 1301 Emancipation Highway, around 7:38 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, police said.
He then fled the scene on foot, crossing Emancipation Highway, with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.
Initial efforts to locate the suspect were unsuccessful. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (540) 373-3122. Anonymous tips can be sent to “847-411” by texting "FPDtip” followed by a tip.
